Certification

Our Material Certification

At Active By GS, we pride in the fact that all our natural and organic fabric are sourced from ethical sources.

All raw materials used for our products are sourced from Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS), Oeko-Tex and Fairtrade certified manufacturers and suppliers. This means that our fabrics have been tested to ensure that they have no traces of harmful chemicals.

Better Cotton Initiative

Better Cotton is an initiative dedicated to the sustainable management of cotton. Their mission is to help cotton communities thrive while protecting and restoring the environment.

In 2005, as part of a round-table initiative convened by WWF, a group of visionary organisations came together to make sure cotton had a sustainable future. Initial support came from organisations such as adidas, Gap Inc., H&M, ICCO Cooperation, IKEA, International Federation of Agricultural Producers (IFAP), International Finance Corporation (IFC), Organic Exchange, Oxfam, Pesticide Action Network (PAN) UK and WWF.

Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS)

GOTS addresses the environmental and social processing stage of making organic apparel and textile products. All our organic cotton fabrics are certified through GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standards) certification.

GOTS is the global leading processing standard for textiles made from organic fibers. It defines high-level environmental and social criteria along with the entire organic textiles supply chain. Worldwide organic textile requirements ensure the organic status of textiles from start to finish which means the products use raw materials that are collected using environmentally and socially responsible manufacturing criteria all the way to labeling. GOTS certified products deliver peace of mind to the consumer by providing credible assurance. (Learn more http://www.global-standard.org/).

Textile Exchange

Textile Exchange is a global nonprofit educational organisation that provides education information, training and research in the textile field.

Together, they support the development, management, and promotion of a suite of leading industry standards and best practices that enable brands and retailers to measure, manage and track their use of preferred fiber and materials.

Textile Exchange's robust membership includes leading brands and retailers, all of whom are positively impacting climate through the use of preferred fibers.

Textile Exchange is driving a race to the top with its strategy Climate+ to reduce carbon dioxide emissions from textile fiber and material production by 45 percent by 2030. By benchmarking the industry and providing actionable tools for improvement, Textile Exchange is leading industrywide efforts to achieve this goal.

Oeko-Tex Harmful Substance

Oeko-tex certified dyes are used on all our products. This means that our fabrics have been tested to ensure that they have no traces of harmful chemicals.

Oeko-Tex is an independent, third-party auditor that offers certification for textiles, limiting the use of certain harmful chemicals and known carcinogens. The certification process includes thorough testing on over 100 harmful chemicals including lead, pesticides, arsenic, formaldehyde, and heavy metals that are harmful to people and the environment. Fairtrade

Fairtrade promotes better working conditions and trade opportunities for workers and farmers. ACTIVE BY GS is committed to following ethical principles in all aspects of the production cycle be it farmers or the workers.

Clothing is one of the most consumed consumer product on the market after food. The apparel manufacturing cycle goes through a variety of processes with the raw material making a long journey to the finished product and finally the consumer. This requires care and attention as well as the labour of numerous hands. This also means that workers in the clothing manufacturing industry are exposed to several negative aspects throughout their working life. Providing better working conditions and livelihood are one of our main priorities at ACTIVE BY GS.

Climate Neutral Now

Active by GS is committed to contributing to accelerating the transformative change needed to reach global net-zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 2050 or earlier through its commitment to the Climate Neutral Now initiative.
